Ep 148 | Ooshma Garg
Listen on
Ooshma Garg is the Founder and CEO of Gobble, the weekly dinner kit service that helps busy professionals make dinner in just 15 minutes thanks to their ready-to-cook ingredients.
In 2022, her company was acquired by Intelligent Foods for nine figures, making her the CEO of both Gobble and the health-focused meal delivery brand Sunbasket.
Ooshma's success is not just about starting and building an incredible multi-million-dollar brand, but it’s also about the resilience and perseverance that she demonstrated during the early days of the business. Ooshma’s non-linear trajectory has been filled with highs, lows, failures, and wins that will inspire anyone listening!
During this interview, Ooshma shares how it took years for Gobble to finally hit product-market fit and how she managed her resilience and mental health when she barely had any money, and investors were telling her to sell and get rid of her company.
We delve into Ooshma's experience of raising over $30M in venture capital from the “who's who” of Silicon Valley. We get a real and authentic view of raising money and who shouldn’t be going down the venture capital path, and the different options that are available to you. Ooshma discusses why cash is king but profitability is freedom and why it’s so important to know your numbers.
We also chat about Ooshma’s experience achieving “success” as an entrepreneur when selling a business, why it’s important to embrace the journey rather than solely focusing on reaching certain milestones and destinations, and so much more.
